Questions about Insurance

Do you work with insurance?

New Life Restoration works with all insurance companies.

Do I have to choose the insurance company’s “preferred vendor?”

Absolutely not. By law you are allowed to choose any disaster relief company you want. Preferred vendors are not only working for you – they are also working for the insurance company. This is why many Central Coastal California residents choose New Life Restoration – a company who works for you and only you.

Do you help with insurance claims?

Absolutely. Our project managers are skilled at taking detailed inventories of salvageable and unsalvageable items, itemizing every little thing so you can recoup the most in your insurance claim. We also go above and beyond to assess the entire home to make sure everything that should be fixed and can be claimed is included. This detailed information is crucial in getting you as much insurance claim money as possible.

Questions about the Process

How long will it take you to reach me?

New Life Restoration’s goal is to be at your location within one hour and 30 minutes, although this sometimes varies because of travel time. We always strive to reach you as soon as possible.

How long does disaster relief take?

How long your project takes will depend on the type of damage and the scope of damage. For water damage it can take 3-5 days for a complete dry down, fire damage can take about 3 months, and so on. Every case is different but we will talk to you about the timetable upfront. We believe in open communication throughout the duration of your project.

What is restoration?

Restoration is the process of restoring your home to its previous state after the disaster. The insurance company values the unsalvageable items, and the cost is used to replace like for like, in order to restore to the previous condition.

What is remodeling?

Remodeling is the process of improving your home, which can be chosen as an alternative to restoration after your disaster. You will still get insurance money for restoration, but by contributing extra money you can get upgrades instead of a restored home. For example, you may get insurance money to restore your laminate countertops, but you could pay a little extra to upgrade to granite or quartz. For those interested in remodeling, New Life Restoration has a showroom where you can meet with designers and pick out materials, after which our skilled contractors and tradesmen perform the work.
